Yeah, looks like its Intel’s New Year Gift(you can call it a Christmas Gift as well). FedEx delivered 5 thick books from the good guys at Intel yesterday, the IA-32 Intel® Architecture Software Developer’s Manual:
- Volume 1: Basic Architecture
- Volume 2A: Instruction Set Reference, A-M
- Volume 2B: Instruction Set Reference, N-Z
- Volume 3: System Programming Guide
- Optimization Reference Manual
These books are also available for free from Intel’s website as PDF downloads(eBooks) but I always prefer printed books over eBooks whenever possible, the traditional way has a warmth that the electronic way lacks(& talk of warmth, its pretty cold here)!! 🙂
Last week I found out that Intel was(& is) giving away books (via Sara) that’ll help you learn ASSEMBLY language, for free including free shipping!! So I thought that looked great & placed an order for all of them & they were delivered yesterday in the evening, all five of them, & I didn’t pay a cent for them either!! 😀 Good for some bedtime reading I should say!! 😉 Haven’t read them yet, so I don’t know what junk I ordered. 😐
Quite a lot of pages & its all greek to me, still what the heck, if they don’t turn out to be something that I can bear, I’ll give them to someone who’ll be able to bear them!! 😉
By the way, that page still looks good for placing free orders, so give it a shot if you want some free Assembly books from Intel. 😀
