Been obsessed with my iG:Syntax Hiliter plugin & have devoted all of the little free time I get, to working on it.
I’d say, I’m pretty happy at the way things are going. Just scroll down a post below, there’s an excellent post there for ASP coders & for users of iG:Syntax Hiliter plugin.
If you can’t or don’t want to, ok, let me break this to you. I’ve made the ASP language file for GeSHi, so the next release of iG:Syntax Hiliter will have ASP highlighting enabled, though I can’t say the same for next release of GeSHi. Oracle, the GeSHi developer had asked if he can include the ASP language file in next release of GeSHi & I ofcourse gave my consent. By the way, I should thank him for ironing out some errors that were there in the ASP language file & I had to eMail him for help.
Ok, now that’s a good news for ASP Coders using this plugin, but why should the rest of you upgrade? That’s a question that some might ask. Well, the reason is that in the next version, auto formatting of WordPress will be disabled in posts containing any iG:Syntax Hiliter tags, be it of PHP or ASP or Java or the generic CODE tags. Some of you asked me to tackle this issue right from the first release & I’m glad that this has been done. This means that the code snippets will not be plagued with nice quotes etc., that just ruin the code.
Also, yes there’s one more thing, the next version of iG:Syntax Hiliter will be having the updated GeSHi v1.0.1 core which was released a few days back & had some bug fixes & a few code improvements.
So, all in all, the next release of iG:Syntax Hiliter will be a power release, a must update for everyone. Expect it in a few days, as I still need to test the new version of GeSHi.
Just can’t wait
Yeah, I know, you’ve been pushing on about WP’s formatting ruining the code. All I can say is
You asked for it, you got it
