Its been quite some time & I’ve received quite a lot of eMails from people asking me when the v2.0 Final of iG:Syntax Hiliter will be released.
Firstly I’d like to express my gratitude to people who’ve taken few moments out of their busy schedule to try & implement my plugin & who are interested in it. Thanks guys, you are the best. 😉 Read More
I’ve been hearing a lot of people complaining about how much SPAM they are getting & WordPress being unable to stop them. Well I do sympathise for these people for being victimised by SPAMMERS but they are wrong in blaming WordPress. 🙄 As far as I’ve seen, WordPress has one of the strongest SPAM prevention features out-of-box. 😉 These features are made more powerful by some excellent work by the contributors to WordPress by rolling out great plugins that go a long way in blocking SPAM. 😀 Read More
Here’s a function in ASP from my code lib that I wrote quite a while ago to read the contents of a file into a variable when I was trying some custom tag parsing in a template engine of mine that I was making in ASP. 💡 The details are quite boring so you better not know them, the project was one of my un-sung part-failures but I learned quite a lot by working on that pet project. 😉 Read More
So finally I’ve started into Regular Expressions. 😀 Read More
After been consistently realising the need for getting all wet in RegEx but fearing the cold waters, I started on RegEx yesterday when I built a validation class in PHP for a project that I’m working on, heavily using RegEx. About 99% of validation is being done by way of RegEx & I know that many tasks can be done with RegEx quite efficiently, as someone told me sometime back that RegEx are resource hungry if not optimally used, I simply built this class using RegEx just to see that I too can do it. 😉
So after fretting for long & causing much delay, finally I couldn’t keep it any longer. Presenting the Preview of iG:Syntax Hiliter v2.0, the only syntax hiliter plugin for WordPress 1.2 thats multilingual. 😀 Read More
Don’t look suspiciously at me, the Preview is just a figure of speech, to emphasise the fact that it still is lacking some features that I wanted in v2.0 which I’ll sort out shortly. Also, the new version of GeSHi is around the corner, so it’ll be there in the final release of iG:Syntax Hiliter v2.0.
Its just one of the days. I’m tired, surfing the net, checking my eMails & hoping to get back to reading my novel before hitting the sack for tonight. But hey, I suddenly strike it good. 😕 And being a good blogger, & a human, I should share it. 😀
So, here you go.

Deploying desktop applications written in Java has always been a problem. Having experienced them myself numerous times, I can say that its a nuisance that has to be tolerated. 😡
But not anymore. JSmooth is here to smooth out your experience as well as that of your client. Its a wrapper which creates Windows EXE files from Java JAR files, so that all the end user has to do is double-click the EXE file like in case of any other software. This EXE will automatically detect any version of JVM which is installed on the host machine & run the Java application. If JVM is not found, like a gentle-bot, it opens the user’s browser explaining how they can get JVM. 😀 Read More
Here’s a good article about using custom tag libraries in JSP over at IBM by Jeff K. Wilson. Though the article is quite old now(more than 2 & half years), its still a good read & quite useful for those who are starting out in JSP or aren’t aware of JSP’s ability of allowing custom tags. 😉 Read More
Well, for those of you who are devoted to VB.NET, here are top 10 reasons as to why C# is better than VB.NET. 😀 Got around to it while reading the latest issue of Programmers Heaven newsletter & I know that its contradicting to my earlier post, but well, I look at both sides of the coin. 😉 Read More
