Yes, its not a tale this time. 😀

This time I’ll give you a sneak preview of what’s waiting under the covers, while I wrap up the documentation.

I’m ofcourse talking about the iG:Syntax Hiliter Plugin, for whose next version you’ve been waiting eagerly(atleast thats what sounded like in your emails). 😀

I’ve been quite busy these past few weeks(read more than a month), full upto my neck, with not getting enough sleep, leave alone working on any side projects. 😐

This doesn’t however means that I’ve stopped the development of iG:Syntax Hiliter. But I haven’t had the time to work on it the way I wanted, first due to change in jobs(again, I’ll post about it sometime later), then getting upto my neck in some urgent projects that needed to be finished. I was kindly asked by Nigel sometime in February to test drive the new parser for GeSHi that he’s been conjuring but I’m ashamed to say that wasn’t able to try it out even for once!! 😳 The ZIP package that he sent me is still lying on my PC where it landed after I downloaded it!! 🙁 Sorry Nigel!!
Heck!! There are only 24 hours in a day!!!!! :curse:

I’ve got quite a bunch of eMails in past 2 weeks asking me if I’d forgotten iG:Syntax Hiliter? 😕

No, I’d say, absolutely not. Its just that I’ve been quite busy in these past 2-3 months that I haven’t even been able to blog regularly. Now that I’ve sorted out most of the things(changed jobs, I’ll talk about it later in another post), I’ll have some free time each day & over the weekends too. So I’ll be able to devote my some time to my little projects.

I’ve been sitting on it for over a week now, I can’t hold it any longer. 😀

Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you the much awaited, iG:Syntax Hiliter v2.0 Final. 😉

After really serious coding & much fretting, the final release of iG:Syntax Hiliter v2.0 is knocking on your doorstep. This is really an update to which a lot of you’ve been looking forward to(so it seemed from all the eMails that I got). 😀 I believe that this release wouldn’t disappoint you & will prove to be worth the wait. 😉

Its been quite some time & I’ve received quite a lot of eMails from people asking me when the v2.0 Final of iG:Syntax Hiliter will be released.

Firstly I’d like to express my gratitude to people who’ve taken few moments out of their busy schedule to try & implement my plugin & who are interested in it. Thanks guys, you are the best. 😉

So after fretting for long & causing much delay, finally I couldn’t keep it any longer. Presenting the Preview of iG:Syntax Hiliter v2.0, the only syntax hiliter plugin for WordPress 1.2 thats multilingual. 😀
Don’t look suspiciously at me, the Preview is just a figure of speech, to emphasise the fact that it still is lacking some features that I wanted in v2.0 which I’ll sort out shortly. Also, the new version of GeSHi is around the corner, so it’ll be there in the final release of iG:Syntax Hiliter v2.0.

What’s cooking? Well, I can’t tell you that, its a well guarded secret. 😉

Ok, enough fooling around, well, I’m testing a few things before I roll out the next version. The ASP highlighting is done, the WP formatting of quotes etc. is done. So, now what? If you remember, those are the two things that I spoke of in my last post. So what’s left now, you may ask. 😕

Been obsessed with my iG:Syntax Hiliter plugin & have devoted all of the little free time I get, to working on it. 😀
I’d say, I’m pretty happy at the way things are going. Just scroll down a post below, there’s an excellent post there for ASP coders & for users of iG:Syntax Hiliter plugin. 😀

An update of iG:Syntax Hiliter Plugin is available immediately. This has some minor but useful updations. 😉
Firstly it supports Line Numbering of code & secondly, the code is now in a box of fixed dimensions & will not be wrapped, meaning that the long lines will not be wrapped & broken, instead a scrollbar will appear. 😉 Many lines would have resulted in the code box stretching vertically, meaning that the page can go un-necessarily long. Now its of fixed dimensions & scrollbars will appear should they are required. 😀
