This news story from PCWorld reports that a group of hackers has re-opened its source code shop online after it was forced to shut down in July, a few days after it surfaced. The shop, Source Code Club, was selling the source code of Enterasys Dragon IDS 6.1 for just $16,000 and the source code of file sharing software by Napster for $10,000. The Source Code Club said that it was selling corporate intelligence to its customers.

I Envy South Koreans!!

Posted by on in iNews | 2 comments

I stumbled across this old news story at c|net news, which has me gasping for breath & making me jealous of South Koreans. How I got to this news story isn’t important, but this news story is. ๐Ÿ˜€

As per this news story at c|net news, on an average, the Internet Connection speed in South Korea is 8 megabits per second, in short, its 8Mbps. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ :dizzy: Its 8 times more than what broadband users get in US, states the news story. ๐Ÿ˜• Seems like the americans reading this or those aware of this fact might think that their connection which they thought was broadband, is just infact a narrow, a much narrow band. ๐Ÿ˜€

SPAM Prevention with WP!!

Posted by on in iDevelop, iNews | 0 comments

I’ve been hearing a lot of people complaining about how much SPAM they are getting & WordPress being unable to stop them. Well I do sympathise for these people for being victimised by SPAMMERS but they are wrong in blaming WordPress. ๐Ÿ™„ As far as I’ve seen, WordPress has one of the strongest SPAM prevention features out-of-box. ๐Ÿ˜‰ These features are made more powerful by some excellent work by the contributors to WordPress by rolling out great plugins that go a long way in blocking SPAM. ๐Ÿ˜€

Jeremy Right?

Posted by on in iNews, Serious Jokes | 6 comments

This week, Chris, the publisher of Webmasters Weekly made a goof-up. In this week’s issue, he refered to the project ResumeWiKi started by Ensight‘s Jeremy Wright but named him as Jeremy Right. Looks like he forgot to prefix the surname with a W. ๐Ÿ˜€

Jeremy Right?

Well, its quite amusing, no? Jer has done quite a few things Right, so I think that Chris thought its time some-one gave him recognition for what he has done. ๐Ÿ˜€ Good thinking Chris, I agree with you. ๐Ÿ˜‰

File Reader?

Posted by on in iDevelop | 0 comments

Here’s a function in ASP from my code lib that I wrote quite a while ago to read the contents of a file into a variable when I was trying some custom tag parsing in a template engine of mine that I was making in ASP. ๐Ÿ’ก The details are quite boring so you better not know them, the project was one of my un-sung part-failures but I learned quite a lot by working on that pet project. ๐Ÿ˜‰

ezFAQs and ME !!

Posted by on in ezFAQs, iNews | 6 comments

I’ve agreed to help out Dennis with the content of his website ezFAQs.

ezFAQs is about the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) on Web Development. The deal is that I add FAQs or answer any pending FAQs. Google AdSense ads are shown on each FAQ & I can specify my AdSense publisher account number & channel so that AdSense ads displayed on FAQs by me will have my account number & I will get all of the revenue earned from the clicks on those ads. Also, I have a link pointing to my Blog on the FAQ page.

Finally RegEx Time!!

Posted by on in iDevelop | 4 comments

So finally I’ve started into Regular Expressions. ๐Ÿ˜€
After been consistently realising the need for getting all wet in RegEx but fearing the cold waters, I started on RegEx yesterday when I built a validation class in PHP for a project that I’m working on, heavily using RegEx. About 99% of validation is being done by way of RegEx & I know that many tasks can be done with RegEx quite efficiently, as someone told me sometime back that RegEx are resource hungry if not optimally used, I simply built this class using RegEx just to see that I too can do it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

MT Forums?

Now you can use MovableType as a Forum Software too, as per this release by Anil on Six-Apart Professional Network.(via WebLogToolsCollection) ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Firstly I’d say that the demo looks good, with Forum design taken from phpBB. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ™„

Secondly, I’d like to register my surprise on the extent to which people are crazy. ๐Ÿ™„ I’d like to question MT’s ability as a blogging software, leave alone its acceptance as a forum which may & will get a high amount of traffic.
