Its been quite a while since I’ve ranted here. Actually, its been quite a while since I’ve ranted anywhere. Almost 2 weeks. 😉
Been so busy that I didn’t get any time to rant & there’ve been quite a few interesting topics on which I would’ve loved to rant but alas…., due to time restrictions, I’ve had to ignore them. 🙁 Read More
The last issue of Macromedia Edge churned up some great articles. Chris Hock turns up with a good looking article on Flash Video. I say “good looking” because I haven’t gone through it but hope to do it this weekend as I can’t spare time before that. So I really don’t know whether it has the goods or not, but I expect that it’ll be good & will have my comments by the weekend. 😉 Read More
Yes, there are people & institutions that are now teaching computer/network security experts & professionals how the hackers work.
Firstly, to those who are unaware, ethical hackers are those who have ethics. 😉 No, seriously, ethical hackers are people who know how hackers work, hack away into networks & thus they are in a position to prevent hacking. Simply put, these are just good hackers. 😀 Read More

A new plugin for WordPress 1.2 by name of WP-Amazon lets you insert links to any product at Amazon along with an image easily in your post & since you search for the product right from your WP, you are not held by slow speeds of Amazon.com, compliments of graphical ads & high traffic. The links are from Amazon.com & so is the product catalog, but things just speed up a little & become easy, that’s all. 😉
So finally Microsoft has decided to enter the now HOT race of super storage eMails. 😀
As Reuters tell it, Microsoft has announced that it’ll boost the storage of free Hotmail accounts to 250MB from a meagre 2MB. Yes, this is true. This announcement ends the speculations, guesses & rumours as to whether Microsoft will enter this storage boost race or not, in which Yahoo!, Hotmail’s major rival, has already started sprinting. But what comes as a pleasant surprise is that earlier, Yahoo! was providing twice the amount of storage than Hotmail, but as per this announcement, Hotmail will provide 2.5 times more than what Yahoo! is now providing. After all, basic maths tells us that Read More
There’s a new plugin at MooKitty by the name of Kitten’s Friendly Comments. Its a sort of whitelist that will check the eMail address of the comment poster against the eMails of past comments. If an eMail had been approved earlier, the comment with that eMail will be approved otherwise it’ll be set for author moderation. Seems like a good plugin. It also has a provision for adding eMails of past comments to SPAM words, which means that comments by these eMails would be set for moderation even if comments from that eMail were approved in past. 😀 Read More
Ok, so I too got it. Yes, now I have a GMail account, many thanks to Dennis. 😉 Read More
So, 2 of my free eMail accounts have a total worth of 2GB. You can add a 100MB free Yahoo! account as a small fry to it.
As I ranted earlier, Rediffmail has started offering 1GB free storage & I’ve been using a free account of Rediffmail for the past 5 years. And now I’ve got a GMail account too, meaning that 2 accounts, 2GB of storage. Plenty for warez, eh? 😉 Just kidding, I know I’ll never use up more than 10-20MB but its a nice feeling, knowing that you have the space for whenever its required. 😀
Following Google, many have turned to the path, some fully, some partially. 😀 Now, its time to move on. 😉 Since Yahoo! became the first major FREE eMail provider to increase the storage space, that it offers, to 100MB from 4MB, its RediffMail which has taken the plunge as first major FREE eMail provider to offer 1GB of free storage with 10MB of attachments per message. In its course, it has also become the first Indian eMail provider to offer 1GB. Read More
Does the title look wierd? No, it isn’t. Its Spanish for “New License“. And yes, I’m talking about Movable Type‘s new license. Yes, they’ve changed it again, I’m not surprised at that, they can’t seem to differentiate between good & bad & horrible. 😉 Read More
Matt has setup a WordPress Hackers Mailing List for discussion of WordPress Plugin API, core WP development, the advanced stuff you know. Might be a good idea hanging around, I might learn something. 😉 Yes, I’ve subscribed to it, does it surprise you? 😀
