Comments Whitelist for WP!!

Posted by on in iDevelop | 0 comments

There’s a new plugin at MooKitty by the name of Kitten’s Friendly Comments. Its a sort of whitelist that will check the eMail address of the comment poster against the eMails of past comments. If an eMail had been approved earlier, the comment with that eMail will be approved otherwise it’ll be set for author moderation. Seems like a good plugin. It also has a provision for adding eMails of past comments to SPAM words, which means that comments by these eMails would be set for moderation even if comments from that eMail were approved in past. ๐Ÿ˜€

The Greed for More......

Posted by on in Serious Jokes | 0 comments

Ok, so I too got it. Yes, now I have a GMail account, many thanks to Dennis. ๐Ÿ˜‰
So, 2 of my free eMail accounts have a total worth of 2GB. You can add a 100MB free Yahoo! account as a small fry to it.
As I ranted earlier, Rediffmail has started offering 1GB free storage & I’ve been using a free account of Rediffmail for the past 5 years. And now I’ve got a GMail account too, meaning that 2 accounts, 2GB of storage. Plenty for warez, eh? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Just kidding, I know I’ll never use up more than 10-20MB but its a nice feeling, knowing that you have the space for whenever its required. ๐Ÿ˜€

Licencia Nueva!!

Posted by on in iNews | 4 comments

Does the title look wierd? No, it isn’t. Its Spanish for “New License“. And yes, I’m talking about Movable Type‘s new license. Yes, they’ve changed it again, I’m not surprised at that, they can’t seem to differentiate between good & bad & horrible. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now Serving 100MB!!

Posted by on in iNews | 0 comments

Yahoo! after announcing 100MB of storage for its free users a few days back has finally made the move. Now the free users get 100MB of storage along with the individual mail size of 10MB. Earlier this was limited to 4MB of storage & 1MB of mail size. This meant that whenever sending any attachments, the total size of the attachments couldn’t exceed 1MB while now this limit has been boosted to 10MB. ๐Ÿ˜€

Smell Mail, Sniff It!!

Posted by on in iNews | 4 comments

Today I saw another great episode of ClickOnline on BBCWorld. It had some debates & thoughts about the open-ness of Linux, a brief chit chat with the man himself, Linus Torvalds. But the news that got me up was about the Scent Mail.

According to Tayfun King on ClickOnline, this is a product that’s being tested in UK that allows people to smell their eMails. The gizmo named Scent Dome works on the same principal as an inkjet printer. As an inkjet printer interprets electronic signals & mixes ink to get the right color, the Scent Dome interprets electronic signals & mixes scents to produce the right aroma. ๐Ÿ˜€ There’s a little fan underneath the scent cartridges which spreads the aroma around the Scent Dome. ๐Ÿ˜‰
People can send smells that they’ve created or use a pre-maid fragrance. ๐Ÿ˜€

Ping Ping & Ping!!

Posted by on in iNews | 0 comments

Yes, people are going crazy, they’re pinging like mad. Ping-o-matic, a free Ping(Trackback) service from the developers of WordPress, allows you to ping major blog directories & search engines telling them that your blog has been updated. ๐Ÿ˜€

Its quite a good service & you can guess how good they are by seeing that they’ve crossed the 1 million pings mark & are still going up & up. Another way to gauge the quality is to try it out yourself, so go ahead & ping it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Mosquito Swatter!!

Posted by on in iDevelop | 0 comments

So, now WordPress has a proper bug tracker of its own, looks like the team is all out to swat the bugs out. ๐Ÿ˜€
There are already quite a number of bug reports in there, I’m not surprised. Most of the times, the bug reports are like
“Oh, I’ve gone through every available word on installation but my WP won’t install”
“damn this thing, I can’t seem to find this or that or make that thing work”
