Yahoo! after announcing 100MB of storage for its free users a few days back has finally made the move. Now the free users get 100MB of storage along with the individual mail size of 10MB. Earlier this was limited to 4MB of storage & 1MB of mail size. Smell Mail, Sniff It!!

Today I saw another great episode of ClickOnline on BBCWorld. It had some debates & thoughts about the open-ness of Linux, a brief chit chat with the man himself, Linus Torvalds. But the news that got me up was about the Scent Mail.

According to Tayfun King on ClickOnline, this is a product that’s being tested in UK that allows people to smell their eMails. The gizmo named Scent Dome works on the same principal as an inkjet printer. As an inkjet printer interprets electronic signals & mixes ink to get the right color, the Scent Dome interprets electronic signals & mixes scents to produce the right aroma. ๐Ÿ˜€ There’s a little fan underneath the scent cartridges which spreads the aroma around the Scent Dome. ๐Ÿ˜‰
People can send smells that they’ve created or use a pre-maid fragrance. ๐Ÿ˜€

Yes, people are going crazy, they’re pinging like mad. Ping-o-matic, a free Ping(Trackback) service from the developers of WordPress, allows you to ping major blog directories & search engines telling them that your blog has been updated. ๐Ÿ˜€

Its quite a good service & you can guess how good they are by seeing that they’ve crossed the 1 million pings mark & are still going up & up. Another way to gauge the quality is to try it out yourself, so go ahead & ping it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, now WordPress has a proper bug tracker of its own, looks like the team is all out to swat the bugs out. ๐Ÿ˜€
There are already quite a number of bug reports in there, I’m not surprised. Most of the times, the bug reports are like
“Oh, I’ve gone through every available word on installation but my WP won’t install”
“damn this thing, I can’t seem to find this or that or make that thing work”

An Apple a day!!

Apple seems to figure out finally that how should the security hole, in their highly polished & puffed up Mac OS-X, be fixed. ๐Ÿ˜‰
According to Wired, Apple released the patch pretty quietly on Monday, without any noise & champagne. This follows the May 21 release of a patch which left the much hyped operating system as vulnerable as it was before patch & which was released amid trumpeting press releases. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ Perhaps Apple isn’t sure whether this’ll work or not because it seems that these smart guys who build one of the secure operating systems in world don’t test their patches or don’t have the know how of testing them, the reason for the previous patch falling dead before destination. ๐Ÿ™„

Enough is Enough!!

Ok, so Microsoft is in a mood of philanthropy, so what? Ok, so Microsoft is really too rich, so what? Does that mean that every Tom & Dick has a right to sue Microsoft & demand compensation, fines, etc. of outrageous amounts? ๐Ÿ‘ฟ If they are rich, that doesn’t mean that you get the right to suck them out? ๐Ÿ˜ก
